A Path of Hope in MALUKU: Looking Back on the Journey of the Community Transformation and Young Women’s Empowerment Project

With deep gratitude to the Lord, we are pleased to announce the launch of the fourth cohort of our young women’s empowerment program at the CTG MALUKU. This project is led by our social outreach branch, under the Community Transformation Group of MALUKU (CTG MALUKU).

A Cry of Social Emergency
It all began in 2021, in response to an alarming reality observed since 2010: in the MALUKU region, many young girls were unable to complete their education. Becoming pregnant at a very young age, and often abandoned by the fathers of their children, they found themselves left to fend for themselves. Without support, income, or any form of livelihood, they were forced to survive by any means—sometimes turning to harmful practices such as prostitution.
The situation was even more heartbreaking because many of their children suffered from malnutrition, and in some cases, it led to tragic deaths. The death of a baby born to a young woman from our very first cohort remains etched in our collective memory as a call to urgent action.

A Community Response Rooted in Faith and Solidarity
In the face of this distress, we joined forces with leaders of the Body of Christ Church in MALUKU to seek a response that would be tangible, lasting, and filled with hope. It was from this spirit of unity that we launched the Community Transformation and Young Women’s Empowerment Project, with the support of many partners from around the world.
The goal was simple yet ambitious: to restore hope, equip young women with valuable skills, and uphold their God-given dignity by providing practical training, support, and spiritual transformation.

Transformed Lives
Since the project’s inception, many young women have regained not only hope but also their self-worth. They have acquired useful skills, taken charge of their future, and some have even become sources of inspiration to others around them.
The transformation is visible. It can be seen in their eyes, heard in their testimonies, felt in their restored smiles, and measured by the positive impact they are now making in their communities.

A Growing Project
Today, through word-of-mouth and the excitement it generates within the churches, the need is growing stronger. This month, we launched our fourth cohort, a clear sign that this initiative continues to meet a real and urgent need within the MALUKU community.
We firmly believe that this program is much more than a social initiative. It is a concrete response, paving the way for a more just, compassionate, and hope-filled future for the young women of the MALUKU community
